Position Overview:

Global Language Strategies, headquartered in Northern VA, is seeking experienced Korean<>English translators to assist with the translation of legal and other documents on an as-needed basis. Must be a US Citizen with at least 3 years of experience providing professional translation, editing or proofreading services to related clients. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, at a minimum:

• US Citizen eligible to work in the United States with the ability to successfully pass a financial and criminal background check
• Bachelor’s degree in related field; advanced degree preferred
• At least three years of experience translating legal-related documents from Korean<>English (e.g., birth certificates, diplomas, transcripts, etc.) in a professional setting
• Native Korean speaker with advanced Korean and English speaking/reading/writing skills
• Available during most week days to receive and complete ad-hoc translation assignments (between the hours of 9-5 EST M-F) with the willingness to work evenings and weekends to complete rush translation projects, as needed
• Must have excellent computer and desktop publishing skills and be highly proficient in use of MS Office suite, especially MS Word and PowerPoint with the ability to utilize Adobe software
• Must be highly organized with a keen eye for detail
• Self-motivated with the ability to work well under deadlines
